Juan Montenegro, 2023-2024 student at ESBS has shared with us his tips & tricks as an international student in Valencia.<\/h2>\n

So here are a few things you should take in mind prior to moving to Valencia.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Search for your apartment \/ room with enough time:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Valencia is known as the Erasmus Capital of the World, so a lot of students come here for a semester \/ year, and for those reasons the apartments available fill up really quickly. Look for your new place in Valencia with enough time. There are plenty of platforms like Idealista<\/a>, Spotahome<\/a>, renting agencies and even some WhatsApp groups that can help you with the process.<\/p>\n

Additionally, it\u2019s recommended that you look for areas that are well connected and close to ESBS.<\/p>\n

Get your free public transport card as soon as you get here:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

One of the best things about the city is the free public transport for teenagers and young adults (under 30 years old).<\/p>\n

As soon as you get to the city, it\u2019s recommended to get an appointment for the \u201cJove Card\u201d<\/strong>. You can enter this link<\/a> for more information\u00a0on how to get your appointment for this great free service.<\/p>\n

Bring your favourite sports equipment:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

No matter what your favourite sport is, Valencia offers all kinds of sports that you can practice. From surf to rugby, football and more, you will be able to enjoy the sport you like.<\/p>\n

ESBS<\/a> has a lot of outdoor activities, tournaments and visits involving different sports throughout the year. If you have a paddle, frisbee or tennis racket, football shoes or a basketball, don\u2019t hesitate to bring them with you! You will have an incredible time and make new friends along the way!<\/p>\n

Your NIE \/ TIE Appointment:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This is one of the most important tasks you need to get done while staying in Spain.<\/strong> It is really stressful to look for an appointment, but if you start with enough time and have all the documentation you need it will not be a big problem. Look for the official sites to get the NIE \/ TIE appointments in Valencia.<\/p>\n

New appointments for this task usually open daily at a specific time, usually 1 – 2 pm, so you will need to be alert and keep trying. You will get it done before you know it!<\/p>\n

Bring clothes for cold \/ hot weather:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Even though Valencia is a beautiful Mediterranean city, when winter hits, it gets really cold and windy. When you\u2019re preparing your bags to come here, bring jackets and coats for winter season, but also your favourite summer outfits because towards the end of the master\u2019s the weather is perfect for a beach day!<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t forget that the dress code for classes are Business Casual!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Travel!:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

There are a lot of options to travel across the Valencian Community, Spain and Europe with low cost airlines and trains.<\/p>\n
