This month we partook in an exciting volunteer activity with Fundación ECOALF and our students at ESBS Madrid 🏞️
On a chilly December morning, ESBS Madrid teamed up with Fundación ECOALF, in collaboration with SEO/BirdLife, to be part of their ‘Clean Rivers, Save the Oceans’ initiative and combat marine waste pollution.
Led by Nacho Martinez, Fundación ECOALF’s project manager in Spain, and Ester and Alex from SEO Birdlife, we ventured into the Jarama river, near the airport Barajas in Madrid, to help clean the riverbeds of plastic, sanitary waste, and rubbish. 🌱
Why this initiative?
🐟 Humans shed 8 million tonnes of rubbish into our oceans every year.
🪸 70% of rubbish stays in the ocean’s ground.
What did we achieve?
🏆 This morning, our students collected 198kg of rubbish, congratulations for your hard work!
As a sport business school, we are committed to building a sustainable future and industry, and this means taking care of our environment and spreading awareness.
We want to thank our students, and everyone involved at Fundación ECOALF and the incredible guides at SEO Birdlife for your trust, effort, and wisdom. If you want to know more about how to help our oceans go to: fundacionecoalf.org
