Seoul, Korea: Our Global Sports Business Master Students experience sport from another continent

Sport has no borders. At ESBS, we’ve built an entire programme around that belief.

This week, our first-year Global Sports Business Master students are living one of the most defining experiences of their academic journey: an immersive study trip to Seoul, South Korea, to explore the Asian sports ecosystem firsthand.

Because understanding the global sports industry isn’t something you can learn from a textbook alone. You learn it by walking into world-class stadiums, engaging with industry professionals, and experiencing the sporting culture of each continent from the inside.

During their time in Seoul, our students have been visiting major sports venues, attending academic sessions and industry conventions, and immersing themselves in the local culture through visits to iconic sites across the city. But if one image captures the week, it’s our students stepping onto the mat for a Tae Kwon Do initiation, South Korea’s national sport, and taking in a live baseball game. That’s global sports management in action.

This trip to Korea is not an optional add-on. It is a core part of the programme’s curriculum. Over their two years at ESBS, every Global Sports Business Master student will experience the European sports landscape in Madrid and Munich, explore the American sports ecosystem in Chicago, and complete their global vision with this immersion into Asian sport in Seoul. Earning a true 360º perspective of the worldwide sports business industry that no other programme provides.

The global sports industry demands professionals with a global vision. At ESBS, that’s not a tagline, its our curriculum.
