On Wednesday February 12, L’Alquería del Basket hosted a 3×3 basketball tournament, organized by the BDE members. The goal? to have a great time, strengthen team spirit, and, of course, witness some amazing plays and spectacular baskets. Twelve teams of 3 to 5 players took part, with at least two participants from AMOS or ESBS. At 10 AM, Romain, Lisa, and I arrived at the courts and were immediately impressed by the modern facilities 😍. After a quick warm-up, it was time for the group stage announcement: four groups of three teams, with 10-minute matches ⌛️. A quick reminder of the 3×3 basketball rules: similar to 5×5 but with a few differences.

“It was a lively and friendly morning, bringing together all the classes in a relaxed and sporting atmosphere. We were able to meet and chat with lots of other ESBS students, exchanging ideas and discovering new people with the same passions. As a photographer and spectator, it was a fantastic morning. With all levels of play, laughter and competition.”Jeanne Saintomer

The tournament

Our tournament started in a tough group, featuring the defending champions 🏆 First match, and a little spoiler 🤫: It was our only win of the morning. Thanks to solid defense and the offensive efficiency of Lisa and Romain, we secured the victory. The second match was more open and competitive but ended in a narrow defeat against Pere’s team. Despite this setback, we qualified for the next phase, where we faced another B2 team, the favourites on paper. The difference in level was clear, and we lost logically. That meant we would play for third place 🥉, against a team we had already faced earlier. This time, they took their revenge with a convincing win 💀. Fatiqued kicked in, and we let the game slip away, but at least every player on our team managed to score a basket.

All that was left was to watch the final, a tight match filled with great teamwork and exciting plays 🤜🏻🤛🏻. The winners received an ESBS jersey and a water bottle, while the runners-up got a jersey. To wrap up this great morning of basketball, a snack was organized, the perfect way to recharge. A big thank you to the tournament organizers for making this such an enjoyable experience, allowing us to have fun while developing key skills like teamwork and perseverance. Definitely an experience to do again! 😀🔥
