Discover the experience of our Global students at Sport Tech Nation, the world congress of the sports industry in Tel Aviv.

At the beginning of the school year, Sports Tech Nation organised a competition in which all the Global Sport Business Master groups competed. On each campus, small groups were formed to present a sports technology project for the Hackathon.

Our students Emma Aubel, Benedikt Simler and Andy Sandoval were selected as finalists and invited to Tel Aviv, where Sport Tech Nation is taking place.

In this mini-interview they tell us about their experience in the city and at the summit, and what they liked most about Tel Aviv. Thanks to Emma, Benedikt, and Andy for participating. Our students are already in their second year, congratulations!

ESBS: Hi, guys! Tell us, how was the experience at Sports Tech Nation in Tel Aviv?

Emma: So for the experience, I really enjoyed it. It was great to discover another culture and see how they work and also how they live in general. So that’s what I love the most about it.

Andy: For me, Tel Aviv was a really cool place. At the end of the day, you’re going into a whole new culture, almost a whole new world, and you realize it’s not a place that you’ve ever experienced before. The way that they speak, the food that they eat, the way that they work, you find some similarities. But really Tel Aviv is its own city. And it was really cool to have that unique experience.

Benedikt: So Andy was talking about free time, but actually the main purpose, of course, was Sport Tech Nation. That was the reason why we flew to Tel Aviv and on Monday, we helped the team of organizers of the event to set everything up. We did a couple of social media videos and in the evening there was a cocktail party and there was the opening ceremony of the event.

Then Tuesday was the main event. We especially enjoyed a start up section where we had the possibility to network and get to know different startups and talk about their ideas and products.

And I can also just say that it was a great experience and it was a real pleasure to be there and yeah, like these two other guys already said, it was just great to get to know the culture.
